Over the last few months as we hit the road to visit mechanic shops around the country and talk maintenance, one of the tools we use here internally is the "Cheatsheet" - specifically one we created to summarize Part 43 and Part 91 (If only to serve as a placemat for our lunch). With the FAR/AIM book seeming to get bigger every year, you may find this cheatsheet more approachable.

These were a big hit with the schools. Getting the next generation trained up in the fundamentals has been an increasing challenge and an area we are passionate in solving (and probably the subject of a later post).

Tedious as they are, the FARs are the cornerstone of aviation safety and compliance. Understanding and adhering to 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91 ensures that all maintenance activities meet the stringent safety standards set by the FAA. This knowledge not only helps A&Ps/IAs perform their duties effectively but also prevents legal consequences (such as fines and grounding of aircraft due to non-compliance).
